Oversight Team

At Waypoint, we call our elder board the “Oversight Team.”
This team functions as the overseers of our community. The expectation of our elders is that they would:

  • Pray: Regularly intercede for the people and mission of Waypoint.

  • Worship: Attend public worship at least twice per month.

  • Invest: Financially support Waypoint’s ministry.

  • Serve: Actively volunteer in one ministry area (e.g., Basecamp, Men/Women’s Groups, Youth, Setup, Offering Count).

  • Outreach: Personally engage in one ministry outside of Waypoint (e.g., YoungLives, CLF, CBS, YWBS, Search, IAM24/7, F3).

  • Theological Alignment: Uphold ECO’s theological distinctives and Waypoint’s Core Values and Guardrails.

  • Shepherd the growth and care for our community.

Commitment: These elders serve a three-year term with monthly meetings – in addition to meeting one-on-one with partners and regular attendees in order to guide, care, correct and teach.
